The purpose of the work is to effectively manage all aspects of CAC/PIV production for NOAA NCR and to manage daily population of the PACS system with CAC/PIV data and to set permissions in accordance with verified needs, and to do so in an expeditious manner so the least amount of time is required of the customer.
The mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is to understand and predict changes in climate, weather, oceans, and coasts; to share knowledge and information with others; and to conserve and manage coastal and marine ecosystems and resources. To accomplish its mission, NOAA has established over 700 facility site locations supporting a variety of activities and operations conducted by NOAA personnel across the United States and its territories.
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO) has responsibility for NOAA's compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12 credential issuance of the Common Access Card (CAC) and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and Interoperable (PIVI), and visitor badges and related administrative tasks and customer service to NOAA individuals. The individual in this role will have daily interaction with a variety of stakeholders, including government and contractor personnel, NOAA scientists, administrators, students, and military personnel (active duty, retired, and dependents).
The work principally involves dealing with problems and relationships of a procedural nature in relation to NOAA's CAC/PIV Program/Process and registration and removal of credentials into the access control system, as necessary. The work consists of duties that involve related steps, processes, or methods for registering employee data into the PIV system and actual issuance of a PIV credential.
Major duties may include but are not limited to:
At least six years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in identification badge control and issuing government credentials.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
